I’ve got a script lined out, and I’m in the process of fleshing out and designing the characters. I will be very different than Heart of a Dragon, although there is a slight similarity between the two. This is a story I want to tell, and I’m hoping it will be able to keep me interested in working on it.

That’s all I can say for now, I don’t even have a title for it.

It’s now been a week since Daxter passed away, and it’s probably been the hardest week of my life. While I have my good times and my bad times, there’s always a sadness that stays with me. I find myself looking over to the corner his cage was in every time I walk by, expecting it to be there and seeing him there, only to find it empty. I frequently visit his grave and just stand there, finding comfort in that nice spot in the forest behind my house.

I’ve put in an application to adopt a rabbit from a local shelter. I don’t seek to replace Daxter, he is impossible to replace, but I’d like to give another rabbit a chance at happiness and love. In return I hope to gain a new little friend who I can care for and give a real home to.

Once I find a decent method, I will be setting up a fund in Daxter’s name and all proceeds will be sent to the local rabbit shelter.

5 years ago I went to the pet store and looked around for a pet. I found a small, white rabbit and asked the guy looking after the small animals how much the rabbit was. He said it was free (although since I had no cage or hutch, I had to buy one of their cages plus food, toys), and an hour later I had a rabbit running around in my bedroom. I chose the name Daxter, and eventually found out that he wouldn’t be growing any larger, he was a dwarf rabbit, so I couldn’t be positive on how old he was.

Earlier today, Daxter passed away. My only comfort is knowing he was loved and that I was there.

Goodbye, Daxter. I will never forget you.

There was a great city inhabited by a race of humans. They were ruled by a powerful King and Queen, and the people all loved their monarchs for their Royal Army kept them safe from danger. Yes, they were all very very happy!

And yet… their land bordered another land that was filled with darkness. No one ever dared to venture into that unpleasant territory. Apparently monsters lived there, and they would gobble up anyone that set a single foot into the massive forest that separated the lands.

Now every tale needs a hero, and this hero was a young man named Demetri. He was a high ranking officer in the Royal Army, a rare feat for someone so young. He had won many jousting tournaments and was very skilled with a sword. If there was ever any trouble in the kingdom, Demetri was the one that could fix it! His superiors in the Army were grateful for him, the soldiers below him all wished they were as skilled as he was, and the commoners ADORED him.

Yes, life was good for Demetri. But hmm.. We have our setting, we have our hero, what seems to be missing? Ah yes! The love interest! Demetri was very much in love with the Princess Angelica. She was very beautiful and loved Demetri, but there was a problem! Demetri couldn’t marry her unless he preformed a heroic deed! Winning a jousting tournament wasn’t very heroic, neither was winning a sword fight. What could prove that Demetri was a hero and was worthy of Princess Angelica’s hand?
To be continued…

Ilene Woods, the voice actress for Disney’s Cinderella passed away last Thursday at the age of 81. She came from a time when Disney put a lot of work into their movies, and unlike modern day Disney movies (with the exception of The Princess and the Frog), she also sang all the songs for her character in the movie. It’s a shame the world lost an extremely talented woman, but at least future generations will always know how talented she was thanks to the movie.

This is also the 60th year anniversary for the Disney movie. It’s a shame they didn’t do anything special to commemorate the occasion. I first saw the movie in theaters in 1987, as my grandmother said it would probably be the last time it was ever shown in a theater. It was.

I’ll be watching Cinderella tomorrow in honor of Ms. Woods.

Last week the trailer for Disney’s newest animated movie debuted. For those that don’t know, their next animated movie is called Tangled, and is based off the story of Rapunzel. My thoughts? It looks pretty good, but I’m just not a fan of 3D animation (2D animation seems to have more “soul”). They have managed to capture the Disney art style, but the realism they add to the fabrics and hair is rather out of place. Either way, I’ll be catching this movie on Blu-ray. I don’t think it will be bad, I’m really liking the art-style, it’s just very incredibly rare for me to go to a theater to see a movie (like combining my interests into a single movie, like The Princess and the Frog managed to do). Also, as I mentioned before, 3D artwork really is a turn off for me. Animation should have an artist working on it, not a computer rendering everything.

Oh, and if you’re a fan of Disney, make sure you join the Disney Movie Rewards program they have. For my birthday a couple of weeks ago they offered me a free Blu-ray movie (I had to foot the shipping bill, but it was just $2). While the selection was small, there was something I liked, Enchanted. Good movie by the way, so good the live-action Smurfs movie is stealing the plot.

The trailer for Tangled can be seen here at the official site for the movie.
