Dragon’s Tale

I was at Otakuthon this past weekend, but I’m pretty busy preparing for a new member of the family. I’ve put a picture up in the gallery, and there will be more added later this week (if I find time).

Just in case anyone plans on looking for me, I will not be attending Otakon 2010 due to lack of funds. I had to decide between Otakon or Otakuthon, and the closer one won out (plus the creative team behind Least I Could Do and Looking For Group will be there).

I took a trip to Montreal this past weekend to attend a new furry con called What the Fur, and I had lots of fun. It was kind of small, but that’s expected for a new convention. I’ve added a new gallery for pictures taken at the con.

That’s it for cons until possibly the end of July where I might be attending Otakon. I’m not 100% sure as I’m  interested in getting a new pet (specifically an American Toad or Pacman Frog). Since they’d be young, they’d need to be fed every day with special nutrients to make sure they grow and don’t get sick, and I can’t get someone else to gut-load crickets or sprinkle them with calcium.

In the meantime, I’m going to be changing things around here a bit. People might have noticed I changed my hair a bit, and I’d like to fix up the site to reflect that change.

I’ve added a few new galleries to the Gallery area of my site. There’s a section devoted to my pets, Daxter and Kain, and a new gallery in the Convention Photos for Anime North 2010. I don’t have many pictures for that one right now, but I’ll be adding more as they start to come in. I can’t say I saw much of the con because I spent most of the time outside.

Well, it’s almost that time again, time to hit the road and check out conventions! This year I’ll be going to a couple more than I did the previous years.

June- What the Fur

August- Otakuthon

November- Naru 2 U

I’m not 100% sure about these cons, as this year a lot of cons happen in succession and I might not be able to afford to go to them: Anthrocon, Otakon, and Midwest FurFest.

Speaking of art, I’ve deleted the Vampire X gallery in the Gallery section and uploaded the pictures that were in it to the Artwork section. I’ve also added a couple of new pictures to the Heart of a Dragon section, so make sure you check them out if you’re interested! The Heart of a Dragon store also has a new picture, the one of Persephone I talked about in the last post, and I should be adding a new picture of Minerva this week.

Hmm I suppose it’s time I wrote up something about last week’s Naru 2 U that I attended. It’s an anime con held here in Ottawa, and I went to have a bit of fun. All in all, it was a pretty good con, they said there was over 1000 people there over the whole weekend, which is pretty darn good for a con in it’s 2nd year. I got to try out my Cinderella outfit on the Saturday, which I think it turned out rather nicely.

I’ll definitely be heading back next year, only I might be behind a dealer’s table.
